Cobalt Blue Porringers

$ 23.00

Ceramic porringers looked like large cups, but were actually bowls.   Early porringers were made of earthenware and later stoneware, but also glass, wood and metals, like silver and pewter.  They varied greatly in size and shape.   Porringers were popular from pre- colonial times to the early 1800s.

The stoneware porringers I offer are large enough to easily hold 16 oz., of soup, stew or chili.  Maybe even a little more.  They are food, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

  There are a limited number of cobalt porringers offered at this time.  They are all made individually and vary somewhat.  Colors vary from firing to firing.

Did I say they hold a lot of ice cream, with chocolate, strawberries and whipped cream?
