I have been captivated by these wonderfully bazaar creatures as long as i can remember, so every year I make a few mugs both large and small with an Octopus motif.  This offering is one of three or four in the tankard size.  These tankards are high fire stoneware and hold about 18-20oz.  Stoneware is very durable.  It does not fade, or corrode and unless you are careless it will literally last forever.

This tankard shows a creature producing a mottled skin for camouflage.  An amazing ability.  Each Octopus is drawn into the moist clay surface before it hardens.  Every Octopus is drawn only slightly different, but glazed quite individually.  Thank you for stopping to look.
